La Chica Chic...rolls right off the tongue doesn't it? But what does it mean?
Well...it all started with a little creative spirit in Brazil--Sao Paulo, Brazil to be exact.
Cristiane Valdez, born and raised in Brazil, knew that when she came to the states her acting career might be impeded by her accent. But she knew she needed to keep the arts into her life somehow...looking back now, she also knew that there was always a bit of an entrepreneur in her.
So it was over coffee with a friend in L.A. that Cristiane pulled out her sketches (uniquely detailed handbags unlike any other in San Diego), poured our her ideas("I want women to wear these and feel sexy, I want women to walk by people and have them all stop and look... and wonder what it is she has!"),
and ultimately branded her designs.
LA CHICA CHIC it would be...a mix of French and Spanish. A phrase that grasps the entity as a whole--it's girlishness, it's sexiness, it's sophistication!
Her friend, it turns out, LOVED it. And so she hopped back on a plane to San Diego...inspired to introduce a bit of the fun and spirited confidence instilled in the Brazilian culture to casual San Diego.
